OFFICE OF THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

This position is anchored in the Retirement Benefits Act, as the office with the responsibility for implementing Board strategy and decisions.

DIRECTORATE OF SUPERVISION

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 (a) of the Retirement Benefits Act, the Directorate spearheads the mandate of the Authority to regulate and supervise the establishment and management of retirement benefits schemes and service providers.

SCHEME RISK MANAGEMENT & ACTUARIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The Department is responsible for risk assessment of schemes and service providers to ensure stability of the retirement benefits industry.

REGISTRATION & LICENSING DIVISION

The Division is responsible for registration of schemes and licensing of service providers and ensuring that they meet the requirements under the Retirement Benefits Act and its Regulations.

INSPECTION & ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT

The Division is responsible for registration of schemes and licensing of service providers and ensuring that they meet the requirements under the Retirement Benefits Act and its Regulations.

DIRECTORATE OF MARKET CONDUCT AND INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 (b) and (c) of the Retirement Benefits Act, the Directorate spearheads the mandate of the Authority to protect the interests of members and sponsors; and to promote the development of the retirement benefits industry

MARKET CONDUCT DEPARTMENT

This Department is responsible for formulating and implementing policies and guidelines that support protection of the interests of members and sponsors, and proper market conduct, in the Retirement Benefits Industry.

INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

This Department is responsible for consumer education and increasing pension coverage through awareness creation, public financial education, financial literacy programmes and stakeholder consultations.

DIRECTORATE OF RESEARCH, STRATEGY & PLANNING

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 (d) of the Retirement Benefits Act, the Directorate is responsible for research, policy development, implementation, monitoring & evaluation of the Authority’s strategy, quality assurance and risk management coordination.

RESEARCH AND POLICY ANALYSIS DEPARTMENT

The Department is responsible for coordinating and carrying out research to inform policy development and to advise on the national pension policy.

STRATEGY AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

The Department is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring & evaluation of the Authority’s strategic plan and performance contract. Inaddition, the department compiles, analyses, and publishes statistical and industry surveillance reports.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND RISK MANAGEMENT COORDINATION DEPARTMENT

The Department is responsible for the coordination of the Authority’s Quality Management Systems and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework to ensure the delivery of quality services.

DIRECTORATE OF CORPORATE SERVICES

The Directorate is responsible for the direction and management of the Authority’s Corporate Services and for ensuring the provision of effective and efficient systems and services for all administrative functions, human resources, finance and accounts, corporate communications and ICT.

HUMAN RESOURCE & ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT

The Department is responsible for human resource management and administrative functions to enable the Authority deliver on its mandate.

INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) DEPARTMENT

The Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Department is responsible for providing and managing the ICT systems and services to enable the Authority achieve its mandate while ensuring security of systems and data for business continuity.

 

FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT

The Finance and Accounts Department is responsible for ensuring prudent management of financial resources and the reporting thereof within the existing legal framework, utilizing sound accounting and financial management systems.

CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION

The Division is responsible for public and media relations including communication management.

CORPORATION SECRETARY & DIRECTORATE OF LEGAL SERVICES

The Directorate provides legal and corporate governance advice to the Authority and secretariat services to the Board.

The department provides legal and corporate governance advice to the Authority.

BOARD SECRETARIAT DIVISION

The division is established to provide secretariat services to the Board and advice on legal and governance issues.

The department is responsible for the Authority’s procurement of goods and services and disposal of assets.
